PHOTO GUIDELINES
Subject Matter
TravelTipsandTours.com looks for photographs that are taken from interesting angles, reveal something unique about a location’s historic landmarks, or capture the essence of a particular place. While we appreciate images that involve people in action and/or stills that showcase local lifestyle, please do not submit photos characteristic of a “family vacation” (i.e. you in front of the Eiffel Tower). We seek only high-quality images that showcase the location and its culture.
Other Specifications
- Size: approximately 72 dpi or 150 - 250 KB file size.
- Color: black & white or RGB
- Format: Jpg only (most cameras will automatically download pictures to your computer as jpgs).
You may post up to nine photos per location at a time, after which, the Gallery Curator will approve all photos.
PHOTO SIZE SETTINGS
Many photo enhancement programs, including Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, have batch processing capabilities that allow you to change the size of all photos in your download folder.
If you do not have one of these programs, Microsoft has a free download that will allow you to easily convert your photos to the proper size. Please visit the following website to download and install the "Image Resizer:"

Using the Microsoft Image Resizer:
Once the resizer is installed, navigate to the folder where all your photo(s) are stored.
-Highlight the photo(s) you want to upload (you can highlight multiple photos in this step), then right- click any of the highlighted files.
- In the drop-down box, select, "resize pictures." In the resulting box, select "medium" and then “O.K.”
- A converted copy of the picture(s), renamed and properly sized, can now be posted to our website.
